The Potnis Foundation began in memory of Dr Pramod Potnis, honouring his legacy of free rural medical camps across Maharashtra — weekend after weekend, in places like Chikli, near Alibaug. He believed care should reach people who could not afford it.

Today the Foundation is stewarded by Nameet Potnis and Radhika Mehta.

The story

He kept showing up.

Dr Pramod Potnis spent decades bringing free medical care to villages across Maharashtra, starting with weekend camps in places like Chikli, near Alibaug. No fanfare, no fee. Just a doctor who went to where the patients were, because he thought that was the whole job.

We still think that. Giving back is not a side project for us — it is how we honour Dad’s example and how we choose to show up in the world.

Healthcare and education

Nameet Potnis and Radhika Mehta steward the Foundation, working on what sits closest to their hearts: healthcare and education for people who are usually left out. We support partners doing the work on the ground, and we build things ourselves where nothing good exists yet.

Open public goods

We build open public goods that travel — tools and materials anyone can use, adapt, and share under open licenses. The list will grow. The through-line will not: more care, more learning, fewer people left outside the room.
